Many are the times an individual beliefs to be better and unique unlike anyone else. It’s true we all possess specific behaviors that differentiate us from every other person in the universe. However, imaginations, thoughts, and wishful thinking, for most of the people goes hand in hand with certain rules of the society in numerous cases. Some examples of conformity include children attend school and adults go to work; cars will stop at a red light and move once it turns green. If we never complied with any set rules in the society, the whole entire structure would break down. The research examining this piece will fit various model categories to derive five main reasons that motivate conformity. First, every individual has a desire to be correct. An individual stands to be correct and accurate in both their observations and judgments. It’s often, one depends on the social cues that are around to help in making interpretations of a given situation. It’s observed that, when a task that is not difficult is imposed to an individual, their morale to correctly do the task lessens the effect of a pressure from a group that answers it wrongfully (Basil 264). Over the past couple months I have had the opportunity to listen to many different music selections from several different eras, including, the Middle Ages, Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, 19th Century, and 20th Century. I have listened to music pieces by Bache, Mozart, Beethoven, and Hayden from the Classical era, to almost completely opposite music from Chuck Berry, Sex Pistols and Public Enemy from the 20th century. The Middle Ages were a time between 476 CE and the early fifth teen century. Also known as the medieval era, the music of this time reflected the church and culture life of the time period. To most people of this time, music was a means of serving God. Over hundreds of years, anonymous composers, who are believed to be monks or priest, created a repertory of plainchant, which consisted of monophonic, unaccompanied melodies sung by a single voice or by a choir in unison. Some of the pieces we learned about were, Play of Virtues by Hildegard von Bingen, Eagle Dance by San Ildefonso Indians of New Mexico, Behold, Spring by Francesco Landini, I Can All Too Well Compare My Lady by Guillaume de Machaut and He Who Gladly Serves by Alfonso el Sabio. She becomes very understanding and it is through her persistence that her relationship with Tom goes from friendship to a meaningful relationship. This helps Tom feel optimistic for the future and his desire to move forward. ‘That was the morning we swam and loved each other and that was the morning Tom Brennan came back, forever. ’ In the Simple Gift Old Bill’s tone changes as his friendship with Billy develops and he starts to confront the events of his past. The repletion of ‘this’ is powerful: â€Å"And this pub, this beer, their clothes, this is where I landed. † By the end of the novel Old Bill develops a more content attitude to life. This is shown in his caring tone as he looked at Billy: â€Å"When I saw (Billy) I felt something I hadn’t felt in many years. I felt pride. † In the Story of Tom Brennan the relationship between Tom and his Gran isn’t really close when they first move in due to her bad cooking, religious beliefs and her relentless ways. She creates a feeling of hostility in Tom and Kylie and they dislike her intensely. Their relationship changes due to Tom recognising her stoicism and the sacrifices that his grandmother has made for his family including the significant offer to share her home. Tom shows his appreciation through the construction of a new chook shed. Tom understands her generosity and strength is captured in his willingness to listen to and converse meaningfully with his Gran. ‘At least she likes watching The Footy Show. We’d have a good laugh over that.
